THE VINEYARD

We believe the land can show its nature, carring on with the countryside world, that is the starting point, most of all here in Tuscany, of each quality production.

Podere Croce di Febo. Beside the olive grove we restored an old vineyard of about 3000m with important and unusual clones of "Colorino", "Tinta di Spagna", "Mammolo" and "Prugnolo gentile".

Podere Pietra del Diavolo. A slab, big as a square, comes out in the middle of the hill and goes down to the deepest stratus of the ground. In some cases the land is only few ten centimeters high and the plants, that manage to survive, grow up slowly, because they are more involved in making their way with the roots than going up to the sky. The land is mixed: silt, clay, mud, crushed stones, but most of all fossils. The poor ground is the fortune of the farming productions. The vineyard and olive trees tend to concentrate their effords in little, but for this reason best productions. The good south/east exposition, the dry - cold climate in winter, the humid - cold climate in spring and the dry - warm climate in summer, with good thermic excurcions, give to the grapes the right ripe and strong smells. In the sunniest area, where the land is less homogeneous we planted Syrah, while in the middle of a clay - mud seam we planted Sangiovese and Arinarnoi (an interesting mix of Merlot and Petit Verdot). In the lower area of the property in an ancient vineyard we planted old clones of Prungolo Gentile, Canaiolo and Pulceinculo.

Podere Monti. In the sunniest area, where the land is richer we set up an other hectar of vineyard D.o.c. and D.o.c.g., we planted Prugnolo Gentile with a little percentage of Mammolo and Colorino.
